The TDI Extended Range course

The TDI Extended Range course provides training for dives to a maximum depth of 55 meters.

As the dives involve overhead environments (soft ceilings) and extended decompression obligations, the use of multiple decompression gases is required.

You will master accelerated decompression techniques involving gas switching with Nitrox 50% and 100% Oxygen.

Diving at these depths demands greater speed and precision in executing various skills, making this a mentally challenging training program.

Upon completion of the course, you will be prepared to advance to the next technical diving level: the Normoxic Trimix course.

Training for CCR and Cave Diving certifications is also available.

Land-based drills covering equipment setup (configuration), donning, and usage—including the bladder (BCD), backplate & harness, cylinders, and regulators.

Approximately one day dedicated to reviewing theory and knowledge: diving physiology, physics, and psychology; dive planning; decompression theory and planning; and the effects of inert gases, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and carbon monoxide.

Approximately half a day in confined water practicing basic skills: neutral buoyancy, breathing techniques, finning, out-of-air and equipment failure drills, stage cylinder handling, gas switching, and gas consumption monitoring.

Open water training: skill review, followed by a final decompression dive (55m depth, 15-minute bottom time, 30-minute decompression time).
